There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch.
The Book of Deuteronomy is primarily a collection of speeches delivered to the Israelites by Moses on the plains of Moab on the Eastern shore of the Dead Sea, shortly before they enter the Promised Land. These include:
- A review of their 40 year journey in the wilderness
- The Deuteronomic Code (religious and social rules and laws)
- The Israelites’ Covenant with God
- The Song of Moses
- The Death of Moses
